Last year, The Rosemary Foundation saw a 10% annual increase in new patient assessments and took on 213 new patients. The average length of care given to a patient was 50 days.
During 2017, our nursing and care support staff:
- Made 5,030 individual visits to patients (averaging 14 a day)
- Spent 6,260 hours with patients or family (averaging 17 hours each day)
- Drove 55,843 miles to get to and from patients (that’s twice around the world!)
The most important statistic for us is that The Rosemary Foundation helped 75% of patients realise their chosen place of care.
The Rosemary Foundation offers a “Hospice at Home” service in Petersfield and surrounding communities for patients in the latter stage of life-limiting conditions.
It costs around £1,600 a month to keep one of our nurses on the road, but we rely solely on fund-raising efforts to continue providing a service, at no cost to the patient or their family.
This month, one of our nurses, Louise, is walking 23 miles from her home in Gosport to the Rosemary Foundation office in Langrish to raise money. Donations are gratefully received via www.justgiving.com/Louise-Golledge1
