Paul Hawes Review Hair Salon

Local Hairdresser Goes the Distance for The Rosemary Foundation

A local hairdresser in Petersfield has completed a 60 mile running challenge to raise money for a local Hospice at Home Charity in East Hampshire.

Owner of Review Hair Salon, in Petersfield Paul Hawes completed the 60 mile challenge starting from Liss Station and finishing in Greatham on the 5th June raising money for The Rosemary Foundation.

The Rosemary Foundation is an end of life palliative care charity supporting those with life limiting illnesses based in Lavant Street, Petersfield.

The charity is close to Paul’s heart after they cared for his terminally ill dad until he died.

Paul said “Between them they looked after my dad David at home with regular morning and night visits until he died in January aged 83. They would also come out whenever they were needed, morning, noon or night. They were fantastic, it’s an unbelievable charity, they also helped us as a family, and I can’t thank them enough.”

Since completing the challenge Paul has raised over £8,000 for The Rosemary Foundation breaking an initial target of £600.

Wendy Smith, Fundraising Manager, for The Rosemary Foundation said “We are extremely grateful to Paul for his amazing achievement. The money raised allows us to continue and be able to support and care for another family just as we did for Paul and his. Congratulations on your achievement Paul”

Even though Paul has completed his challenge Paul’s fundraising page is still active through Justgiving.com and donations will be welcomely received.
